The city of Amman has come to a standstill today as the Saudi King is in town and all roads are blocked. I spent an hour in the blazing heat trying to find a way to get home and then returned to the airconditioned and internet-equipped office...only to have a chat with my sister who has reaffirmed the fact that we are living rather strange lives..
Saba: yeah so did i Huma: hai hai Saba: and a loong chat with the taxi cab driver
who did not seem happy when i said i thought the taliban was not good
Huma: acha did i tell u i went to an mma rally? Huma: to cover the anti rushdie sentiment Saba: oohh Huma: only YOU could meet such characters Saba: indeed Huma: what else did he have to say abt the taliban? Saba: he also said he has a paki friend who reads namaz at light speed Huma: only pakistanis can be good at that
